Structure fire with animal rescue on Belden Place

On March 12, 2026, Niagara Falls Firefighters responded to a structure fire on Belden Place. Crews arrived around 11:40 a.m. to find smoke and fire in the wall under a front window. The resident was not home at the time but returned and informed responders about pets inside.

Firefighters rescued four cats, a dog, and a turtle. Sadly, the turtle did not survive. Officers and AMR EMTs assisted in securing the animals outside, and the cats and dog were placed safely in the resident’s vehicle. The cause of the fire remains under investigation, and no injuries were reported…
