CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) – A man is facing charges after reportedly hitting a child at a bus stop, according to jail and court records.
Just before 7 a.m. on Thursday, March 12, Adarias Steffon Oliver, 33, is accused of passing a Charlotte Mecklenburg School bus, which had its illuminated stop sign deployed, and hitting a 7-year-old boy with his Dodge Charger.
This happened on McCullough Drive near North Tryon Street. CMS said the bus driver followed protocol after the incident and that all the families of the University Meadows Elementary School students on the bus have been notified of the incident.

Court documents state that the boy was seriously injured after being pulled under the vehicle. Following the crash, Oliver reportedly fled the scene and did not call 911. He then returned to the crash site about 11 minutes after the incident, but the boy had already been taken to the hospital at that point…
