Man admits to fatal uptown Charlotte shooting, gets lengthy prison term

A man pleaded guilty in a 2024 killing outside an uptown Charlotte business and was sentenced to at least 15 years in prison, prosecutors said Friday.

Laquan Hoe, 32, was convicted in the fatal shooting of Aundrey Brown, 30, during an altercation near the 600 block of North Tryon Street just after 2 a.m. June 8, The Charlotte Observer previously reported.
