COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL)- Happy Saturday! It has been a beautiful day for the beginning of the weekend. Get ready for my clouds Sunday, and a few pop up showers tomorrow afternoon.
WEATHER AWARE: We are Weather Aware Monday morning for the potential for severe weather. This system will have more kick that Thursday’s system.
- Timing: 3 a.m. to 9 a.m. ET
- Threats: Round #1- Discrete cells, or supercell thunderstorms (ahead of the main squall line) could produce isolated tornadoes. Round #2 – The squall line itself could bring damaging winds up to 70 mph, hail, brief tornadoes, and periods of heavy rainfall.
COLD WEATHER: On the back end of the front, cold air is on the way. A few snow flurries will be possible Monday, but no accumulation is expected.
By Tuesday morning, morning lows will drop below freezing. Those 20s will stay in the forecast through Wednesday. By the end of the week, temperatures will slowly warm back up. Highs will be near 70s again…
