COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — Video surveillance and a witness statement helped police track down a man believed to be connected to a fatal west Columbus stabbing.
On Thursday morning, a man accused of stabbing another man to death appeared before a Franklin County Municipal Court judge. James Jacobs, 63, is facing one count of murder in the first degree after he was arrested several blocks from the Hilltop crime scene overnight Wednesday.
Officers arrived at the 1700 block of Sullivant Avenue just after 11:45 p.m. Tuesday. The victim, Dion Carter, was found with a stab wound to the torso, lying on a pedestrian walkway in between apartments, court documents stated.
