MICHIGAN — A woman has been arrested in connection with an animal hoarding investigation involving dozens of animals found in poor conditions at a Flint Township home.
Police said 61-year-old Brenda Marie Shires was taken into custody in Grand Rapids after authorities asked local officers to check an address where she was believed to be staying. She was arrested within an hour and later transferred to Flint Township detectives.
Investigators allege Shires was involved in keeping 65 dogs and four cats in poor living conditions at the home. Police also said 27 dead animals were discovered that had not been properly disposed of…
