Irish Off Ionia organizer reflects on changes ahead of 2026 event

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) – Irish Off Ionia is set to return to Grand Rapids Saturday, and this year it’s bigger than ever.

The annual St. Patrick’s Day celebration is marking its thirteenth year at Calder Plaza, expecting up to 10,000 attendees. Organizers say this year’s event will double the stages and drink tents compared to last year, with 14 acts on the entertainment lineup, including the Grand Rapids District Pipe Band.

The event will run from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and is limited to attendees ages 21 and older. Organizers are requiring bag checks and metal detectors at entry. Only card and tap-to-pay will be accepted — no cash. As of Saturday morning, some VIP tickets are available but they are limited.
