THOMASVILLE — The City of Thomasville is transitioning its community notification system from Nixle to a new platform called Genasys in an effort to improve how emergency alerts and community updates are delivered to residents.
City officials announced that residents can begin enrolling in the new system immediately by texting THOMASVILLE to 65513. The service will provide notifications about severe weather, road closures, public safety alerts and other important community updates.
According to the city, Nixle will continue to operate alongside the new system during the transition period. The current platform will remain active through March 28, 2026, while officials complete the switch to Genasys. After that date, Genasys will become the city’s official alert system…
