Motorcyclist who barely survived police chase and crash charged with felony fleeing

Police charged a motorcyclist after he survived life-threatening injuries from a 2024 crash while fleeing a traffic stop and leading troopers on a 30-mile chase.

The charges were filed last year, more than a year and a half after Steven Custer, 28, crashed into a Wendy’s restaurant in Dauphin County and was critically hurt.

Police never made the charges public, but PennLive found this week the case had been filed by searching court records. Police would not say why the investigation took more than 18 months, but they could have been waiting to interview the motorcyclist or to see if he survived…
