Passenger killed, driver injured in South Sac early morning SR-99 crash

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — A single-vehicle crash on southbound SR-99 near Pringle Avenue early Saturday morning resulted in one death and one injury.

The California Highway Patrol reported that at approximately 2:40 a.m., a black Honda Civic left the roadway, traveled onto the shoulder, and up an embankment before colliding with a guardrail and overturning.

The male driver sustained major injuries and was transported to a local hospital. The male passenger, who was wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced deceased at the scene. Alcohol is identified as a factor in the collision…
