Judge advances case in ICE-related crash that killed Hesse teacher

A Chatham County judge ruled Thursday that there is sufficient evidence for the case to move forward against the man accused of fleeing federal immigration operations and crashing into a Hesse K-8 teacher’s vehicle.

During an operation by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Department of Homeland Security (DHS), authorities attempted a traffic stop on Oscar Vasquez-Lopez, who fled, prompting a chase that ended in his vehicle crashing into Linda Davis’ car. Davis later died from her injuries.
