About 7% of Portage County’s households still were without electricity March 14, according to outage maps posted by FirstEnergy.
The utility company stated on its website that 5,091 of the county’s 76,336 power customers were still without electricity after severe winds March 13. Weather conditions left as many as 9,000 customers without power as of 5 p.m. March 13.
The highest concentration of customers without electricity was in Mantua Township, where 889 of 2,170 customers, or 41%, were without power. Other places with a high concentration of customers without power included Shalersville (488 of 2,221, or 22%); Nelson (238 of 1,153, or 21%); the Brady Lake area of Franklin Township (58 of 237, or 24%); Windham Township (157 of 830, or 19%); Deerfield (335 of 1,927, or 17%) and Franklin Township (366 of 2,267, or 16%.)…
