DALLAS — Texas will always be the Lone Star State, but another appropriate name may be the Land of Plenty – plenty of billionaires with plenty of wealth to their names.
Forbes Magazine has put out its 2026 list of billionaires and Texas is well-represented, with a total of 88 throughout the state based here. In North Texas alone reside 42 members of the billionaire list, according to the Dallas Business Journal.
Texas’ richest stand among a record group of 3,428 billionaires, a bump of 400 more from 2025. The Texas total increased by four from the previous year. Five Texans are in the top 100, including the richest person in the world — Elon Musk, with total wealth of $839 billion, thanks to his holdings of Tesla stock and the rising valuation of SpaceX…
