WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – The Wichita City Council wrapped up a budget retreat Friday, following voters’ rejection of a sales tax measure. The session was led by new City Manager Dennis Marstall, who asked each council member to identify their top budget priorities.
Council members expressed minor disagreements on some issues but were united around one goal: attracting more people to move to Wichita.
Homelessness and housing among top concerns
Council Member Joseph Shepard, who represents District 1, said addressing homelessness and affordable housing are among his top, and interconnected priorities.
