WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — Tens of thousands of people are expected to fill the Delano District on Saturday for the annual St. Patrick’s Day parade — and this year’s celebration will include a new feature in the area.
City leaders said up to 30,000 people could attend the festivities, which will be the first Paddy Day Parade since Delano became a common consumption district. The means you can purchase alcoholic drinks from participating businesses and carry them within designated boundaries along Douglas Avenue.
The district stretches from the Arkansas River west to Seneca Street along Douglas Avenue, with several businesses participating in the program.
