DENVER (KKTV) – Ahead of the sentencing of a southern Colorado funeral home owner, a nonprofit is planning on honoring those impacted by similar cases.
On Monday, Carie Hallford, one of the owners of the Return to Nature funeral home, is set to receive her federal sentence. She faces up to 15 years in prison for financial charges she pleaded guilty to; on a state level, she is facing nearly 200 counts of abuse of a corpse charges, one for every body investigators said they found in the Penrose building in 2023.
