PALMERTON, CARBON COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — It was a great day to go snow tubing in the Poconos with a twist! Blue Mountain Resort held its Cardboard Box Derby on Saturday in Palmerton.
Participants use cardboard to build sleds in all shapes and sizes, then take them for a ride down the snowtubing hills.

Some creations make it to the bottom, while others don’t. The motto is build it, race it, and hope it holds! Many people spend months building their creations.
“We did pretty good, we went about 35 miles an hour down the hill, we didn’t flip over. Thought for a second there we might turn a little bit sideways and go for a roll, but we didn’t, so quite happy about that.
