Detroit Hairstylist Accused of Pointing AR-Style Gun at Client During Heated Dispute Over Facebook “313 Day” Hair Deal

DETROIT, MICHIGAN — A Detroit hairstylist is facing felony charges after prosecutors say a dispute over a discounted hair appointment escalated into a frightening confrontation involving a firearm at a home on the city’s west side.

According to the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office, 31-year-old Justice Angelique-Danielle Snell of Detroit has been charged with Felonious Assault and Felony-Firearm following an incident that allegedly occurred on March 6, 2026. Authorities say the confrontation happened around 9:58 p.m. at Snell’s residence in the 1100 block of West Forest Avenue.

Dispute Began Over “313 Day” Hair Promotion

Investigators say the victim visited the residence after seeing a “313 discount” promotion for hair braiding posted on Facebook. The offer appeared to reference Detroit’s well-known 313 area code, which is often celebrated locally during “313 Day” promotions and events.

According to prosecutors, a disagreement began when Snell allegedly demanded more money than the price originally advertised for the hair service. When the customer attempted to discuss the cost, authorities say the situation quickly became tense.
