Magnetic chess games recalled for choking risk

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — More than 150,000 magnetic chess sets have been recalled because they pose an ingestion hazard to children, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission.

Stoney Games says the Kluster Fun Tabletop Magnet Chess Games have high-powered magnets that can come loose and cause digestive issues or death if swallowed.

No injuries have been reported to date, but the CPSC says the magnets violate toy standards because they fit within its “small parts cylinder.”…
