AUBURN, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — 18-year-old James T. Rio, was arrested Saturday, March 7, after New York State Police said he stabbed a 19-year-old male during a confrontation at the Fingerlakes Mall.
Troopers responded to the mall at approximately 4:37 p.m. for reports of a menacing complaint involving a knife. The victim sustained a small puncture wound to the right side of his chest, an injury authorities described as non-life-threatening.
The investigation determined that the confrontation began inside the mall near the arcade and billiards/arcade area. Rio and several other individuals encountered the victim, leading to a verbal argument. As the victim attempted to leave the mall, Rio followed him and hit him with a pool stick…
