Police Arrive To Find Driver Pinned Under Mercedes SUV

Most of us have put ourselves in a less-than-super-safe situation with our cars. It usually happens behind the wheel, but one Mercedes-Benz owner recently found himself in danger underneath his vehicle. While attempting to check out a possible issue at an auto parts store, his jack failed, and the SUV fell on him. Thanks to one officer’s quick action, the owner survived and avoided life-threatening injury.

Police in Webster, Massachusetts, say officers, firefighters, and EMS crews rushed to an Advanced Auto Parts on East Main Street on February 17 after someone reported that a man had become trapped under a vehicle. Video from a police bodycam shows the moment when the very first officer, Nicholas Caruso, arrived on scene.

As he walks up to the Mercedes-Benz GL, the man is already unresponsive. For reasons we may never know, nobody has to this point used a jack from the store itself to free the man. The officer gives clear directions to those around to get a jack and to chock the back wheel…
