Eastern Iowa Blizzard Warning: 5 Inches of Snow North of Highway 34 and 60 MPH Winds Until Monday

Cedar Rapids, Iowa – Travel across eastern Iowa could become nearly impossible by late Sunday afternoon as powerful winds turn moderate snowfall into widespread whiteout conditions.

According to the National Weather Service in the Quad Cities, a Blizzard Warning remains in effect from 4 p.m. Sunday until 1 p.m. Monday for much of eastern Iowa. Snow totals between 3 and 5 inches are expected, with the highest accumulations north of Highway 34. Wind gusts could reach 60 mph, blowing snow across roads and reducing visibility to near zero…
