Tunica, Mississippi – Strong winds will sweep across north Mississippi and eastern Arkansas on Sunday before a sharp drop in temperatures brings a two-stage freeze threat that could damage crops, stress early spring vegetation and create problems for exposed pipes through Tuesday morning.
According to the National Weather Service in Memphis, a Wind Advisory remains in effect from 8 a.m. Sunday to 1 a.m. Monday for parts of east Arkansas and north Mississippi, where south winds of 20 to 30 mph will gust as high as 45 mph. Winds will turn northwest Sunday evening and continue gusting between 30 and 40 mph overnight.
