DC teen sentenced to 10 years for armed carjacking

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — An 18-year-old man was handed a 10-year prison sentence Friday for an Oct. 2024 armed carjacking, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office (USAO) for D.C.

Eric Woods, of Washington, D.C., pleaded guilty in June to charges of armed carjacking and possession of a firearm during a crime of violence. He is additionally ordered to five years of supervised release.

Court records stated that Woods was 17 at the time of the crime, but was charged as an adult under Title 16 after a judge denied his request to be sentenced under the Youth Rehabilitation Act…
