Fuel Spill in Rockville Sends Gasoline Into Storm Sewer

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded around 9:30 pm Saturday, March 14, to the area of Rockville Pike (MD 355) and Rollins Avenue in Rockville for a reported fuel spill involving a gasoline delivery truck.

According to MCFRS Spokesperson David Pazos, the truck experienced an issue while dispensing fuel at a gas station, causing an unknown quantity of gasoline to flow down the street and into a storm sewer.

Hazmat personnel assisted the Maryland Department of the Environment in placing containment booms in a nearby pond. Fire officials said crews also checked nearby residential buildings and found no life safety concerns. MCFRS cleared the scene shortly after midnight…
