Five years after David Ordaz Jr. was shot and killed by Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies, his family gathered outside the local sheriff’s station on Saturday to demand renewed accountability in the case.
Family members held a vigil and protest on the anniversary of Ordaz’s death, saying that during the incident, he was experiencing a mental health crisis and threatening to harm himself with a knife.
