Capital Region deals with raising gas prices, businesses develop efficient solutions

SCHENECTADY, NY (WRGB) — Rising tensions over the Strait of Hormuz have pushed crude oil prices above $100 a barrel for the first time since 2022, and drivers across the Capital Region are feeling the impact at the pump.

The average price of regular gas in the region has climbed again to $3.64, according to AAA. Drivers said the jump has been noticeable in a short period of time.

“Two weeks ago I noticed gas prices were $2.89 maybe $2.99 and yesterday when I drove past the gas station I noticed they were $3.55,” Misty Broughton said…
