First Alert Storms arriving tonight, flurries to come by morning

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) – A 48 FIRST ALERT DAY for Sunday and Monday for damaging winds, strong thunderstorms, heavy rain and a big drop in temperature.

A Wind Advisory is in affect from now through 7 AM Monday for wind gusts as high as 45 to 50 mph. Wind speeds are expected to exceed 60 MPH as storms impact the Valley. Timeline of storms set between 9 PM and 4 AM. Damaging winds and heavy rainfall likely with a chance for a tornado or two.

Storms leave behind a windy and cold Monday. Flurries are possible throughout the morning, best chance remains east of I-65. Temps in the 30s to around 40 degrees, wind chill values around 30 degrees with winds still gusting to 35 MPH during the day. A hard freeze Monday night with lows in the low 20s. Tuesday, a mix of sun and clouds, less wind and still cold. Temperatures return to the 60s late this week with sunshine expected for the weekend…
