5 displaced after battery in electric unicycle causes Lancaster apartment fire

LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — A lithium-ion battery in an electric unicycle caught on fire in a Lancaster apartment on Sunday morning, displacing five residents.

According to the Lancaster Township Fire Department, crews were called to The Villages of Lancaster Green apartment building on Judie Lane around 7:50 a.m.

Firefighters encountered smoke from the first floor upon arrival. They extinguished the fire in the building and carried the burning unicycle to the front lawn where it continued smoldering, the fire department said…
