60 mph winds and snow? Weather service said Lansing’s weather is about to turn

LANSING — Greater Lansing residents should prepare for the potential return of high winds, snow and dangerous commutes in the next 24 hours.

Joe Ceru, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Grand Rapids, said two storm fronts are brewing March 15 for south and central Michigan and the second one could bring wind gusts of 60 mph, chillier temperatures and snow for the Lansing region.

“What is going to be right around in the 60s today, the highs tomorrow will be in the low to mid-30s with upwards of an inch of snow possible in and around the Lansing area,” he said, advising local residents to make sure they’ll get weather alerts. “Be wary for the morning commute.
