A 66-year-old Ocala man was struck and killed Friday night while trying to cross State Road 200 in Citrus County, according to authorities. Troopers said the collision happened around 10 p.m. north of East Buffalo Lane and involved a Ford Ranger. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to Tampa Bay 28, a Florida Highway Patrol news release stated that the man walked into the path of the Ford Ranger, which was driven by a 24-year-old Hernando man. The crash occurred as the victim attempted to cross SR 200 north of East Buffalo Lane at about 10 p.m. FHP has not released any additional details as the investigation continues.
