Chicago police supervisors have signed off on criminal charges in two shooting cases — including a double murder and a high-profile incident at O’Hare International Airport — even though Cook County prosecutors told detectives they didn’t have enough evidence to support them, according to court records and officials who spoke with CWB Chicago.
In both cases, prosecutors dropped the cases as soon as the accused men appeared in court for the first time.
