Comeaux High closing; students will be rezoned to new schools

LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) — The Lafayette Parish School Board is moving forward with a plan to close Comeaux High School at the end of the current school year. Hundreds of students will be rezoned to other high schools across the parish starting in September.

District officials said Comeaux High School has experienced a major drop in enrollment over the last five years and is operating far below its capacity. While the high school is closing, the board plans to renovate the campus and reopen it as a career and technical education center for the 2028-29 school year.
