NORWICH, CT. (WFSB) – The Diocese of Norwich announced that Father Laurence LaPointe, pastor of Corpus Christi Parish in Willimantic, has been placed on leave following an investigation by the Connecticut Department of Children and Families concerning an allegation of abuse of a minor in Connecticut in the early 1970s.
LaPointe was placed on leave March 6. The Diocese learned last week that he had been indicted in Maryland in connection with alleged misconduct also dating to the 1970s.
