COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — Two men paddled through the Chattahoochee River today to raise money and awareness for a good cause.
Jarod Horne and Stephen Burden embarked on a month-long journey to paddle roughly 500 miles down the Chattahoochee River. Today marked day 15 of their trip, stopping in Columbus for their halfway mark.
Community members interested in rafting alongside the duo also participated in the action by purchasing a rafting ticket and joining Horne and Burden on the water.
Those who didn’t participate in the action took a seat on the rocks and enjoyed the sunny skies as the two rafted down the rough waters of the Chattahoochee.
“Today, oh man it was awesome. It’s pretty rare on this trip that I get to really push my skills a little bit and this is the only place where you can really do that. So having the high water, big waves, whole bunch of people out there in rafts. It was just super fun watching everybody fall in and swim and being a part of the action,” said Stephen Burden, one of the men rafting for a cause.
Horne and Burden say all proceeds raised from their excursion will go to the Chattahoochee River Conservancy for river cleaning and water quality testing…
