Roberts promoted to captain in Ohio State Highway Patrol

Staff Lt. Todd J. Roberts, office of planning, research and development, was promoted to the rank of captain Jan. 25 and was recognized recently by Col. Charles A. Jones, Ohio State Highway Patrol superintendent, during a ceremony at the patrol’s training academy. Roberts transferred from his previous assignment in the office of planning, research and development to command the office of field operations.

Roberts began his patrol career in September 2003 as a member of the 141st Academy Class. He earned his commission in March of the following year and was assigned to the Wooster Post.

As a trooper he also was assigned to the Cleveland District Criminal Patrol Unit and the special response team. He earned the Post Trooper of the Year in 2008…
