A fire significantly damaged the inside of a home in the Village of Falconer late Sunday afternoon. According to Chautauqua County dispatchers, Falconer Fire responded to 322 East Elmwood Avenue at about 5:00 PM for a report of a kitchen fire and were joined at the scene by crews from Kennedy, Kiantone and Gerry. Falconer firefighters say that quick work limited the flames from spreading, but the inside of the house sustained heat and smoke damage. No injuries were reported, and the cause has been not reported at this time.
