First Alert Forecast: Rain, storms tonight. Snow quickly follows

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) – Buckle up! The weather roller coaster is going to go on a pretty wild ride Sunday evening into Monday!

Sunday Night Storms

A line of thunderstorms starts to approach Northeast Indiana by 8pm or so. This line of storms then arrives in Fort Wayne between 10-11pm. By about 12am Monday, this line of storms will move into Northwest Ohio before pushing out of the region by 2am or so.

Within this line of storms, a few thunderstorms could turn severe. We’re watching for all threats, but the primary concern is a severe storm producing wind gusts strong enough to cause damage.

Make sure to have multiple ways to receive weather alerts.

Winter Returns for Start of Week

One the storms move out, cold air will be RACING in. We topped out in the mid 70s on Sunday, but will wake up in the low 30s on Monday morning with feels like temperatures in the 10s and 20s thanks to the wind. Also, there will be some leftover moisture to deal with, but since it will be so cold, it’s going to be in the form of SNOW! Temperatures will stay in the low 30s and upper 20s through the day. Snow showers will linger through the day, too…
