West Michigan drivers navigating higher gas prices

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Global oil prices have climbed after the war with Iran escalated, pushing gas prices higher across the country. The West Michigan average on Sunday was $3.56, up from $2.95 this time last month before the war, according to AAA.

Along Michigan Street and Fuller Avenue, the price signs at Speedway and Shell were hard to miss: $3.69 per gallon of gas. For drivers pulling in, filling up isn’t as simple as it used to be.

“When is it going to go down? When the war is over?” said Grand Rapids resident Baiden Griffin.
