Officer recognizes driver with meth from another traffic stop days prior

A Eustis woman was arrested after being stopped with methamphetamine in her waistband and in her car.

An officer stopped 34-year-old Nicole Margerat Salinas on Tally Road and Thomas Avenue in Leesburg around 12:50 a.m. Wednesday, according to an arrest report from the Fruitland Park Police Department. Her white Ford van did not have working taglights, making the registration plate hard to see.

During the stop, the officer learned the registration had expired on June 30, 2025. Salinas was unable to provide her license, registration or proof of insurance, so she instead just gave her name. Regardless, the officer was familiar with her from a previous traffic stop days prior where she was arrested with drugs and a firearm, the report said,
