Savannah, Ga (WTOC) – Severe storms could disrupt school and work plans Monday as a strong cold front sweeps across the Coastal Empire and Lowcountry, prompting some districts to cancel classes and shift to e-learning.
Storms are expected to move into western areas late this morning and move offshore by late afternoon. WTOC’s First Alert meteorologists say the storms will have the capability of producing damaging wind gusts up to 75 miles per hour, hail and a few tornadoes. The severe threat will wind down early this evening.

The Appling County School District said all schools in the district will be closed for students Monday.
