WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – The Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina is hosting a pop-up market in Wilmington this week.
According to organizers, families can choose from a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables, snacks and beverages. There are no residency or ID requirements.
“More than 33,000 people in New Hanover County are struggling to keep food on the table. That’s one out of every seven neighbors we see each day,” Amy Beros, Food Bank President and CEO, said. “With so much disruption in our community right now and massive cuts to lifelines like SNAP and Medicaid on the horizon, locally led efforts like Pop-Up Markets are more important than ever.”…
