Tacolada Bringing San Diego-Style Tacos To Great Hills Austin

North Austin is set to get a splash of San Diego flavor in April 2026, when local restaurateur Tony Farmand opens Tacolada, a San Diego-style taco and burrito shop in the Great Hills Market & Station. The new spot, going in at 9828 Great Hills Trail, Suite 140, is slated to serve California burritos, fish tacos, surf-and-turf burritos and carne asada, with Farmand describing a focus on hospitality and a modern, clean feel rather than a late-night taqueria vibe.

As reported by What Now, Farmand, who moved to Austin in 2019, said he wanted to bring the California burritos and fish tacos he knows from San Diego to a city he felt was missing that specific style. The outlet notes that the menu is still being finalized, but Farmand has framed Tacolada as “modern, simple, clean” and centered on strong hospitality.
