Terrebonne Parish Sheriff Tim Soignet announced the arrest of a Denham Springs man in connection with a traffic stop investigation. Levante Tyree Goodson, 29, was arrested for Weapons and Narcotics-related offenses, in connection with the incident.
On Monday, shortly before 1:30 am, a TPSO Patrol Deputy encountered a vehicle driving in the area of Westside Blvd and Park Ave, which was responsible for committing multiple traffic violations, which led to a traffic stop. As the Deputy approached the vehicle, a strong odor of Marijuana was immediately detected inside the vehicle. Further observation revealed that the vehicle was occupied by a male driver, later identified as Levante T. Goodson, along with a female passenger and a young minor child.
As the Deputy was speaking with Goodson, an AK-47 rifle was observed directly next to the drive and center console. Due to officer safety concerns, Goodson and the female passenger were removed from the vehicle, and as Goodson exited, a large amount of cash was seen on the floorboard area of the vehicle…
