Severe winter weather is causing major travel disruptions along Interstate 80 across Iowa on Sunday night, including a lengthy highway closure and a crash that has blocked traffic in central Iowa.
According to travel alerts, Interstate 80 is closed in both directions from Interstate 880 (Exit 27) to Jordan Creek Parkway (Exit 121) near West Des Moines, Iowa, due to dangerous winter conditions linked to ongoing blizzard weather.
Further east, a crash has blocked eastbound Interstate 80 between Exit 182 and U.S. Highway 63 near Malcom in Poweshiek County, Iowa.
