Harper Moyski’s parents question whether their testimony will help change Minnesota gun laws

Members of the Annunciation Catholic Church and School community have been trying to convince Minnesota lawmakers to enact gun reform legislation since last year’s deadly mass shooting, including the parents of 10-year-old Harper Moyski, who was killed in the attack.

But the testimony of survivors and victims’ family members appears to have fallen on deaf ears, Jackie Flavin and Mike Moyski explain in an op-ed published by the Minnesota Star Tribune, particularly in the deadlocked House, where a bill to ban assault-style weapons and high-capacity magazines recently stalled on party-line tie votes.
