Rockford, Illinois – Strong wind gusts up to 40 mph are whipping loose snow across northern Illinois Monday, creating blowing snow and sudden visibility drops even as the region’s Blizzard Warning has been canceled.

According to the National Weather Service in Chicago, a Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 4 p.m. Monday for Winnebago, Boone, McHenry, Ogle, Lee, and DeKalb counties.
