CSPD: Officer bitten by suspect during arrest near Memorial Park

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — A suspect allegedly bit an officer while being arrested on Friday, March 13, after officers tracked down the suspect near Memorial Park for a Domestic Disturbance call, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD).

According to CSPD, at around 2:45 p.m. on Friday, officers were dispatched to the 300 block of South Hancock Avenue, just west of Memorial Park, in response to a domestic disturbance call. While on the way to the scene, officers saw the suspect and chased him, but he ran from officers westward toward the intersection of South El Paso Street and Costilla Street.

The Real Time Crime Center (RTCC) located the suspect in the 500 block of East Pikes Peak Avenue, a few blocks to the northwest, and, according to CSPD, when officers confronted him, he became physically aggressive.
