SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — Active Generations, a local non profit, is taking in donations so it can continue helping seniors in the community receive hot meals.
This year’s campaign, March on Wheels, comes at a critical time for Meals on Wheels of the Sioux Empire. The organization adds about 20 new seniors each month, and with an annual cost of $1,900 per person along with facing funding reductions, the program projects a funding gap of $450,000.
“March for meals is about the funding, but also about the awareness. We want to make sure that seniors who are homebound or are looking for food have that option to call us and register for the program,” president and CEO of Active Generations Betsy Schuster said…
