Front wheel popping off caused crash that overturned truck, injured 2, police say

NORTHFIELD TWP., MI – Preliminary investigation shows a crash that injured two was caused by a front wheel coming off the truck.

A 2020 Hino Carry-All box truck was going south around 6 p.m., Sunday, March 15 on U.S. 23 near Barker Road in Northfield Township when the truck lost its right front wheel, Michigan State Police said.

The failure caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle, which then drove off the right side of the freeway and rolled over into the ditch, police said. The truck rolled over multiple times…
